The chess qualities of an intermediate level player include cognitive skills such as calculating moves in advance and the ability to control the game [1]. Furthermore, an intermediate level player should enjoy constant study and assimilation of information in the form of theory, practice and experiences [2]. It is important that the player has perseverance and dedication to continue improving and developing their chess skills [3]. Regarding social aspects, intermediate level players can benefit from participating in chess clubs or events where they can play against other players and receive feedback and advice from more experienced players. 

   


In summary, the chess qualities of an intermediate level player include advanced cognitive skills, perseverance and dedication to continue improving, as well as participation in social events to receive feedback and advice. 

From the point of view of Chess skills, the strength of Elo will be applied (explained at the end), students at this level must possess the following characteristics that are correctly described on the site: www.chess.com 

  • They play chess and practice very regularly at least 3 days a week. 
  • They know some open openings and defenses that allow them to perform successfully at the beginning of the game. 
  • They are able to predict at least 3 to 4 moves satisfactorily.
  • They make some mistakes frequently in the eye of a higher level chess player 
  • They move pieces without any strategy, they do not see easy traps, mates and they tend to leave the pieces very easily, thus making very serious mistakes. 
  • They begin to gain knowledge and think strategically in the 3 phases of the chess game (Opening, middle game and end game) 

    • Elo in chess. 

    A chess player's Elo strength at the beginning of his career is determined by his skill and performance in competitive chess games. Elo is a rating system that measures the relative skill of players, and at the beginning of a player's career, his Elo will be set at an initial level based on his performance in tournament or competition matches. This initial Elo will serve as a starting point for future evaluations of your chess progress and skill.
