Simple Checkmates - 2 rooks

 Simple Checkmates (2 rooks)

In this checkmate the King does not participate because only with the joint action of the Towers does the Checkmate occur. The position that must be achieved is in which one Rook offers Check and the other cuts off the King, this is as if a fence was placed on the opposing King where he cannot move easily.

  1.  The steps to achieve this are as follows:
  2.  Cut off the King's path with one of the opposing Rooks to give Checkmate in the closest sector of the board where he is located.
  3.  The Rook that does not block the passage must give check to make the opposing King retreat.

Until the last row or column of the board is reached, maintaining the position of the cut King and the Rook that does nothing offers Checkmate.

Let's look at some examples:  Some indications to finally know this checkmate well are:

  •  Total study time: 30 minutes.
  •  Positions that you have to see to know this checkmate well: 10 to 15 or more

  Precautions:

  1.  The rook is a piece that always acts at a distance in chess.
  2.  Keep in mind that the furthest rook is always the one that cuts off the king.
  3.  The king does not have to intervene in this checkmate.
  4.  From the beginning when the plan to cut the step in column or row is drawn up, it must remain the same.
